so very fall.

carving pumpkins may be one of my favorite past times. im awful at it, my pumpkins never come out the way i want them to but something about scooping all of the guts and seeds out gives me immense satisfaction. my first pumpkin got trashed. i tried so hard to create the perfect USC but multiple pieces broke and caved in as i was carving. much like our actual team, it looked great at first and then fell apart. so my next pumpkin (yes, we bought 8) was a tribute to the glorious state of south carolina. because i miss it so much. i couldnt help but miss my family while we were carving all day, not because its a family tradition (bc i cant ever remember doing this with my family) but because i know i would've had a blast with my aunt and uncle and the kids doing it.... that, and my uncle is the most crafty DIY person in the world and my pumpkin wouldve come out MARVELOUS!!

here is the end result:
that horrible clemson paw was Leslie's doing, trust me i had NOTHING to do with it.

i spent all of saturday drinking. surprise? no. i got my much expected wake up call from Courtney on saturday morning "get up. get up. get up. get up. get upppppp" and then the text from Ellen "get your ass over here now." so of course, i got up, got ready and went to meet them. first stop? The Ivy for lunch (where we went to dinner the night before). i wore courtney's fabulous glasses all day. i got more stares and dirty looks than i ever have in my life (even in my skimpiest of halloween costumes) but i didnt care, because they were amazing. and i will buy a pair asap.

geek chic? probably just geek. dont care.
and my favorite part of the weekend? i made puppy chow!!!
for as long as i can remember my mom and i have been making puppy chow every holiday season.  we were only allowed to have it during the holidays because my mom hates to clean up the mess, but never the less it was always my favorite thing.  this stuff is like crack coated in peanut butter and chocolate. you cant keep yourself out if it. its bad for you, and everyone knows youve been doing it because your mouth, nose (if youre as messy as me) and fingers are covered in white powder.  exactly like crack (i'm assuming, of course?)  i can remember sitting in front of my tv, dipping chex cereal in blue ceramic coffee mugs filled with peanut butter, melted chocolate bars and then finally in powdered sugar.  it was never the same, of course, but it was the best i could do to hold me over till christmas time.  well, mom, ha! now that im a grown up (sort of) i can make this WHENEVER. I. WANT!... and so i did. and now i will get fat.

update on my laundry: the last load i did? still in the dryer.  the rest of the dirty clothes? have moved from my laundry hamper to my floor.  BUT! it is only 8 pm and there is still hope i will wash another load tonight.  i wouldnt count on it, but it is a possibility.
